Confederate March in North Carolina

On Setember 12th, 2010, local North Carolina Sons of Confederate Veterans camps made a march from Winston to Salem NC, and they also went through Lexington NC. The march was made as a protest to yesterdays "Burn a Confederate Flag Day". The march was also made to honor our southern veterans and our Southern heritage. Pictured is Jamie Funkhouser, a member of the SCV Camp that marched, he is pictured at a Confederate Monument and is proudly holding the First Nationa Confederate Flag. Great job to Jamie and all others who participated in this fine event!

"Burn a Confederate Flag Day" Outcome

Today, September 12th, 2010, was "Burn a Confederate Flag Day". It was supposed to be a nation wide event, but it seems that it did not go so well for the flag burners. While I have heard nothing of the event today, I have heard of lots of ways people are protesting the flag burners. Marches, cemetery ceremonies and just simply flying a Confederate flag have been the ways many people have protested against the burners. Myself and a few friends placed flags on the Confederate Veterans graves at our local cemetery today. It got newspaper editors attention, and there will be an article over it in next weeks local paper here in the Hill Country of Texas. There were many other cemetary ceremonies happening today as well. It turns out that the very flag the burners were supposed to be burning, has gotten more attention and honor, then the flag burners themselves and their movement.

A radical group has proclaimed September 12th, 2010, to be "Burn a Confederate Flag Day". We must protect our heritage!

On September 12th, everyone should raise their Confederate flags proudly! Also, we could all get involved in some sort of activity on the day. A Sons of Confederate Veterans camp is planning a twenty mile march on September 12th, as a protest to the flag burners. There are also people planning Confederate Veteran grave clean-ups and decoration. There is an endless list of things we can all do to help protect our heritage!

Defend OUR Heritage!

For years, the children of America have been taught about the American Civil War in school. They have been taught that the war wasa dispute over slavery and that the South was fighting for slavery and the North was fighting against it. They have been taught wrong! Now, because of lies past down through generations and racists organizations such as the Neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan wrongfully using and misrepresenting out flag, it is seen as racist and a hate symbol.

Now it is up to us to protect our heritage. We must protect it from groups such as the KKK and Nazis, and we must educate the people of the true cause and motivation of the American Civil War. We must defend our heritage!
